What is WorkCover WA?
Since 1 March 1991, it has become a compulsory legal requirement for employers to arrange baseline hearing tests for all workers working in a 'prescribed workplace'.
Failure to comply could see a maximum fine of $2000 per offence.
Failure to comply could see a maximum fine of $2000 per offence.
WorkCover WA is the regulator of the workers' compensation scheme in Western Australia or workplace hearing loss compensation. This includes the overseeing of claims for Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). To help with the accuracy of these claims, accredited and approved hearing testers, of which Pristine Hearing is one, are required to conduct accurate hearing tests.
|
Hearing tests must be conducted using calibrated equipment in an appropriately quiet testing environment while following strict procedural requirements. The relevant legislation outlines the possible benefits for a successful claim including payments that are lump sum, weekly or paid for hearing aids.
